First, let me say a big THANK YOU for your support. Volunteers are the heart of my campaign, and I truly appreciate all that you have done to help me in my bid to seek re-election.
I don’t have to tell you that the stakes for this election are very high, especially for our economic future, the quality of our educational system and the social safety net for the most vulnerable of us. We have just 45 days to go before election day, and there is still much work to do! While I absolutely appreciate everything you have already done, I am writing to ask for a bit more of your time.
We are excited to announce that Teresa Schwab has joined the Meier team to provide some additional organizational support. She will be coordinating volunteers and helping making sure we maximize our volunteer resources between now and election day. She will become a familiar face, so if you haven’t already met her, please stop in and say hello.
We have identified several volunteer roles for you to choose from, including: walking door-to-door; making phone calls; maintaining office hours; writing “Friend of Melanie” postcards; stuffing envelopes; addressing and stamping envelopes and/or postcards; delivering signs and/or other literature; data entry; working on election day; and making phone calls or hosting events to help raise campaign funding.
There will be sign-up sheets and calendars in the office headquarters, located at 309 Cherokee Street in Leavenworth, or you can simply email Teresa directly at email@example.com to let us know what you would like to do.
Buffalo Bill Days, Leavenworth, KS Sept 2012
Most pressing is our delivery of yard signs to Leavenworth residences and business…signs can go up in Leavenworth on September 25! If you are available to help us deliver yard signs, please meet up at headquarters on Tuesday, September 25 at 5 p.m. Working together, this should only take a couple of hours.
Starting Sunday, Teresa will be maintaining regular office hours, so feel free to stop by any time and spend a couple of hours. There is always plenty to do!
Starting September 23, the office will be open during the following times:
- Sundays from 2-6 p.m.
- Mondays from 5-8 p.m.
- Tuesdays from 5-8 p.m.
- Thursdays from 5-8 p.m.
It has been an honor and an privilege to serve the members of our community. We’ve got a lot to accomplish between now and November 6, but I’m confident we can do it together!
